These 11.5g savage slug Sandeels are just about the most realistic lure you can throw at a bass, cod or Pollock. Fish these on the savage slug hooks (sold here as well) either from the shore, and flicked back, the action is just nothing short of incredible.

These are the lures that out fished everything a year ago, the sluggo lure from America, Savage have developed this lure even further. they now have a hollow rear body, and a solid head, this makes them dart and dive like nothing you have ever seen before, they are so realistic in the water, and the hook is rigged so the barb is in the body, making this a weed less lure, so it can be fished over rocks or through weed no problem. each set of slug hooks comes with a set of tungsten nuggets, that can be slid on the shank of the hook, you can add as many as you like, to give extra casting weight, and even more diving action.

From a boat fish these either in 3's on short droppers, or just a single eel above a big lead head, or butterfly jig, or again individually on a long flowing trace, believes me when you work the tip of your rod, these lures will come alive, and is totally irresistible to bass, Pollock and cod.

1. Firstly add your nuggets onto the shank of the hook

2. To rig these lures in the most professional way, use one of our Snowbee Stinger Corkscrew links on the eye of the hook, and simply wind the eel on to the hook..

3. Then push the barb into the body, just so the point is a fraction from coming out of the back of the eel.

This now makes it weed less, and can be fished through rocks, weeds and all other sorts of underwater obstructions.

This 100mm 25gram Tsunami Super Popper is one of the fantastic new top water lures from Australia, that have been designed to allow water to flow through the face of the lure and out of the gill covers. This design generates even more bubbles, splashes and commotion on the surface. The concave face pushes water out, again causing even more ripples and splashes on the water, mimicking a hunting or injured fish on the surface.

This 25g Popper has weighted transfer balls, for exceptionally long casting distances and also give off a deep echo through the water column to attract fish. Use this in Norway, or the English channel, and it will take big Cod, Pollock, Coalfish and anything else with a big mouth and fins. This lure has a fantastic action, with the finely cut skirt wafting and waving as you jig this lure. But this is just one of the ways you can use it. Fix some really heavy duty mono, to a bloody big hook, bait this with a side of Mackerel, or a whole Squid or Cuttlefish and drag this across the bottom, occasionally lifting the rod tip to induce the lure to flutter and pulse, with the bait being dragged just behind it. Use this in Norway for big Butts and Cod, or in the Channel for huge Cod and ling. Finally, this lure can be rigged for trolling, and will take all sorts of gamefish. The pics show how to rig your slugo eels.

1. Firstly add your nuggets onto the shank of the hook

2. Then push the offset of the hook, into the nose of the lure.

3. You can whip a bit of elastic cotton around the nose of the eel to make it even more secure

4. Then push the barb into the body, just so the point is a fraction from coming out of the back of the eel.

This now makes it weed less, and can be fished through rocks, weeds and all other sorts of underwater obstructions.

This 100mm 25gram Tsunami Super Popper is one of the fantastic new top water lures from Australia, that have been designed to allow water to flow through the face of the lure and out of the gill covers. These booms are designed to be either cast away from the boat, or simply lowered down to the sea bed. These booms are also the perfect size for using on a hopper rig (see picture).

The most impressive feature of these booms is the pivot end. If the trace was any longer, the lead head would not flutter up and down properly. The big cod sees the disturbance, and hears the noise of the weight banging, comes to look, and sees the little lead head fluttering, and just nails it. As I said, this is an absolute killer rig for big summer cod.

When your happy, lock the boom in to position and lower it to the depth you want to fish. The lure is swimming way back, away from any disturbance, but directly in line with the weighted boom at the set depth. When a fish hits the lure the boom disengauges, and slides all the way back to the swivel, tied 6ft above the lure, magic!!!

TOP TIP 2 Use cable ties to attach the weight to the boom, then cut the boom tubing down so it is just a bit longer than the weight, this just keeps things nice and tidy. With the weight fixed like this, it acts like a keel, and also prevents the lead from spinning!! If your switched on you can rig up severel booms with different sized weights, so you can fish different depths.
